TOYOTA GR SUPRA PREPREG HOOD

The ADRO Carbon Hood is a full replacement for the A90 Supra's factory hood, built entirely from prepreg carbon fiber.

 

Prepreg carbon fiber comes pre-impregnated with a precise, controlled amount of resin, then cured under heat and pressure. The heat-and-pressure cure fully consolidates the laminate and gives it a high fiber content and a high strength-to-weight ratio. That does two things. It keeps the hood extremely light, and it gives the panel the rigidity to hold its shape and take stress over the life of the car. This hood is fully prepreg inside and out, not a prepreg outer layer over a different underside.

 

The underside is lined with a Kevlar underlay. It sits directly over the hottest section of the engine bay, where sustained heat would otherwise soak into the panel and break down the resin over time. The aramid layer resists that heat and adds impact toughness that carbon fiber alone doesn't have, so the underside holds up to years of heat cycling and road impacts without cracking. Aramid is a low-density material, so this protection comes with a minimal weight penalty and doesn't give back the savings the prepreg construction buys you.

 

We also removed the raised hump found on the OEM hood, giving the car a noticeably lower and wider front end that pairs cleanly with our complete MK5.1 kit. Vents let hot air escape the engine bay, helping manage underhood temperatures whether you're on the street or at the track.

 

The hood installs directly in place of the factory unit with no additional modifications or reinforcements required. OEM hood hardware is expected to be reused.
